The Southern Gypsy Rose began when I heard about an outdoor market in 2013 that was accepting applications from new vendors. My mom and I stayed up for a week straight crafting and making the most elaborate Halloween decorations for an October craft fair (there's nothing like jumping in feet first at the last minute!). The response was overwhelmingly positive and we sold almost every single item we brought to the show. I knew from that first event that my goal was to open a clothing store but I needed to sell my decor and crafty items to make my first clothing purchase at market.
Fast forward to January 2015, I bought a FedEx truck and was on the road attending fairs and hosting home parties every week! We lovingly referred to the truck as the "Hot Mess Mobile". Through the years, we have continued to expand our product lines. We carry women's clothing and accessories, children's clothing and accessories and gifts.
In 2017, I rented space in my first mercantile and have continued to expand across DFW. You can now find us in four stores (and always online).
